After one month on vacation in Barbados, I must say being home is a delight. I really enjoyed where I lived in Payne’s Bay, St. James, in the Secret Cottage, where I awakened to a fantastic view each morning and watched a magnificent sunset every evening. I slept so well with the breeze coming through the two windows in my room. I cooked fresh fish on many days. I swam in the Caribbean Sea, met many lovely people from the U.K. and the U.S., and took in polo for the first time.

The most beautiful place I saw in Barbados was Bathsheba on the Atlantic coast.

Absolutely beautiful scenery in Bathsheba!

Dover Beach was lovely too, on the southern coast. I enjoyed swimming and had breakfast at a family restaurant, Bliss, where I spent the entire morning.

31 days later, I’m back in beautiful South Florida, where I always return, no matter where I travel in the world.

A New Year

Patience?
Tolerance?
Compromise?

No, no, no.

I will not be patient with people who are whiny, needy, unconscious, and stupid.
I will not tolerate people who are thoughtless, overbearing, biased, and trifling.
I will not compromise my comfort, health, finances, or happiness to please others.

This is a New Year! I have a new outlook, a new perspective. People can only hassle you if you let them and, this year, I refuse to LET THEM hassle me.

I will live my life according to my wishes. I will enjoy every moment. I will not do anything I do not want to do just to make someone else happy. Yes, I care about people but I put ME first in every single situation. I have paid the price to choose this stance and I am going to keep this promise to ME.

It’s my turn. It’s ME TIME!

Change

From moment to moment life changes. Change is the only constant. How we move through the changes we experience forms our opinions and reactions. For example, just this week, my life changed when I flew from West Palm Beach to Atlanta.

Of course, the weather effects our mood. Needless to say, when the sun is shining and the sky is blue it’s easier to feel bright and shiny.
